Wow! is all we can say! What a beautiful day and as always a well planned ride and some good distance. I know everyone was happy we didn't get the downpour we had last year! Nothing on us was dry! LOL! You guys really know how to run an event and we enjoy such great company. We didn't get to hang too late cause of other commitments, but glad we made the run. I am sure from the amount of bikes there and people still checking in when we left the event was a success. We will be posting the pics we took soon. Soon as I can figure out where I downloaded them too! damn technology! Hope you all had the great time we did! In the wind..Icequeen

To complete his motorcycle jump over 24 trucks on Saturday, May 24 at Kings Island, Robbie Knievel plans to double the distance his father covered in 1975. Evel Knievel went 114 feet; and Robbie aims for at least 224 feet.
"It's the longest gap I've tried since 1998 over the Grand Canyon," Knievel said.
Knievel said he has attempted to produce a Kings Island jump for years and was worried he would miss the chance as his career as a daredevil begins to wind down. Knievel turned 46 on May 7.
"I'm a grandfather now," Knievel said. "But I can still beat up any other grandfather."
The Kings Island jump idea took on an even greater significance for Robbie when Evel died in November from pulmonary fibrosis.
To help celebrate Evel's life and accomplishments, Robbie will bring much of his family, including wife, mother, daughters, and grandchildren to Kings Island to see him jump.
Knievel said he prepared for Saturday's jump with exercises to build upper body strength so he can pop his motorcycle up on its rear tire.
Evel Knievel drove a modified Harley-Davidson motorcycle for his Kings Island jump. Robbie Knievel will ride one of his company's custom-made Knievel motorcycles.
Getting hurt is an obvious risk in Knievel's line of work, but he said there's another downside: roller coasters like those at Kings Island lose some of their thrill. He still rides them, however.
"There's no chance I'm going to die on a roller coaster," Knievel said. "But I still love them. I love to take my family on them for just a taste of what dad does."
Comment: Do you think Knievel will make it over all 24 trucks?

Motorcyclist injured in crash

MOOREFIELD TWP. — A motorcyclist was injured in a two-vehicle accident that backed up traffic for nearly an hour Tuesday, May 13.
Luke Schafer, 25, was flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital shortly after the accident, which occurred about 4 p.m. The driver of the car, a Chevy Impala, sustained minor injuries, said Sgt. Rick Alonso of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
"Speed wasn't a factor," said Alonso of the highway patrol's Springfield post. "(The motorcyclist) just didn't stop in time. He probably didn't see it until the last second."
The crash occurred at the intersection of Route 4 and Moorefield Road when Schafer rear-ended a car waiting to make a left turn onto Moorefield Road. Another motorist, Kaitlin Toth, 17, waiting at the intersection, caught only a split-second of the accident.
Toth, a returning lifeguard at Splash Zone, a local water park, was turning right from Moorefield Road onto Route 4 when the collision occurred. She didn't see the motorcycle rear-end the Impala.
"I just saw him fly," Toth said. "He flew over the car and landed to the right on the road in front of the (Impala)."
She quickly parked her vehicle and ran to Schafer and stayed with him until help arrived. As a lifeguard, she knew to put him in in-line stabilization, holding him in such a way as to limit movement of his head and spine.
Schafer was conscious the entire time, she said.
"He was moving and talking," Toth said. "He pretty much wanted his mom and his family to know where he was."
The intersection was cleared and the mangled vehicles towed about 4:45 p.m. Bystanders at the scene said the intersection has seen its share of crashes.
Officials at Miami Valley declined to release information about Schafer's condition. The investigation to determine the cause of the crash is ongoing, Alonso said.

Proofread your fliers! and event posts!

Tis' the season of runs and I love to get all posted I can. But usually I run across a few that might not have an important bit of information. Make sure times, cost, rain date if any or put rain or shine. why and what for, and a good address so people from far away can use mapquest easily to get directions and a good contact number. Also make sure you put all the extras, like raffles and such and also when and where food is provided. So make sure to check and recheck your fliers before printing off so everyone can get to your ride!! Take care, ride safe and I hope lots show to support so many great causes!! And please if I make a mistake correct me! Sometimes things change and I can be emailed to make changes! Thanks!
